I show the E586 as a MAX-100 style DC brushed Gear motor (gear box attached) , these motors often were fitted with a tach, so this is possibly where the 4 wire confusion comes in?

Hi,
I have some used electrocraft brushed dc servos and id like to connect them up, trouble is they seem to have 4 wires coming out of the brushes and my drives only have 2!! I can only imagine its a series or parrallle arrangement, can anyone point me in the right direction to find some info, please forgive my ignorance! The motors also seem to have an electricly actuated clutch attatched, has anyone seen this kind of arrangement?
Thanks alot
Matt

Thanks Al,
I will take another look, can you tell me what the max voltage and current setting should be for these motors?
Thanks
Matt
E586 motor: cont. torque 20 oz-in
peak torque 40 oz-in
max no load rpm 5000
Kt torque constant 7.7 oz-in/amp
Ke Voltage constant 5.7 V/Krpm
Tach 14v/krpm
