Tuning Animatics Smart Motors | | Does anyone have experience tuning Animatics smart motors using the SMI tuning utility? First off my understanding of servos is pretty limited so if you talk real slow using small words I won't be offended.
I run the tuning utility and don't really how to interpret the results or understand what they mean. It seems fairly clear that looking at the blue line graph which is supposed to be actual position that you would want the line to climb as near vertical as possible, and once it reaches the top you don't want it to overshoot and come back down, and that a flat smooth line on top would mean the motor is stable once it reaches the target. Right so far?
Here's where I get more confused, if I adjust the numbers to give me the most vertical line with no overshoot and a flat top then the peak number for actual position is also significantly lower (Not postion error but actual position). What is the significance of that peak number and what is most important in finding the best tune?
Any help with the specifics or just a better general understanding of what is happening would be appreciated.
