| What type of servo motors will you be using? The dsPIC for the most part is open source except for the PIC compiler. You will have to purchase pre programed chips for the UHU servo. The UHU can drive high power servos. Therefore, you need to decide what your requirements are. Also, I forgot to mention Max-Mod's excellent work. http://max-mod-shop.com/ Its hard to say which one would be easier. The UHU uses through hole components, which are easier to place than surface mount. The UHU can also power higher power servos vs the dsPIC. If you can handle surface mount, I would go with the dsPIC for starts. Hope this helps, Iron-Man |

| The UHU, dsPIC & YAPSC are not commercial. For a small drive 2 - 3 amps, try the dsPIC. The servo amps are not "free" in that you will have to purchase the components, circuit board material and build the servo amps. Most of the work has been done, although some tweaking is still required. You can obtain a limited version of Microchip C compiler & IDE here for free; http://www.microchip.com/stellent/id...edirects=mplab You will also need Mach 3 or EMC2. http://www.machsupport.com/ http://www.linuxcnc.org/ Hope this helps, Iron-Man |
