Omron R88D drives and Motor... Need help START FROM SCRATCH!!

Hi guys,
I am using stepper motors for the last 7-years and got a lot of experience from this forum... As i started retrofitting some big metal machines so diverted toward the Servo drives...
I confess i have zero experience in servo motors and controls... I need your help make running my Radial drill machine...
http://www.cnczone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=105247
I have recently got following drives and motor for my Z-axis:

Servo Driver: OMRON R88D M120
Servo Motor: OMRON R88M M1K120

I have two Gecko G302V stepper driver and I am planning to install it on X/Y carriage. The servo Motor will be installed it on Z-axis... The Z-axis total weight is 120Kg (Counter weight installed) and is supported by 2 1inch linear rails with 4-blocks.. I am using 10mm lead/ Revolution Ball screw on Z-axis.
I will need your help in servo drive only:

The servomotor will be connected with the lead screw with 10:1 reduction gearbox. The lead screw has 10mmlead/revolution and 32mm diameter ball screw. I want to get Rapid at 150IPM running Mach3 with 25KHz kernel speed. Is that 150IPM is possible?

I have the user manual for the Omron Drive having lot of parameters.. What parameters are necessary to program in the drive?
I am attaching the manual here. Now, I will start from the terminal connections. All is clear to me except:
The Controller need 3-Phase 220V whereas I have Single Phase 220V as shown in figure attached. Will this work? We also have 3-Phase 380V but the controller not shows any three phase 380V supply>.. So can I run it with Single phase 220Volts?

Second thing is the INITIAL SETTINGS as attached in picture. All is clear to me except the Control mode options given in Page-16 of attached manual.
It has following Options:

1- Analogue Speed Control
2-Analogue current control
3- Analogue speed or current Control
4- Pulse train Position control
5- Pulse train Position control with FF

What mode should i use to control with Mach3? Mode 4 or mode5?

usually up to 750 watt drives will run off single phase 230v
however ive had larger drives that refuse this and show an error of missing phase!
you could use a 3 phase transformer to give you 220v 3 phase? dont apply direct 380v as the input circuitry wont take it!
its going to be a try and see situation.
once you have it moving in test jog mode set to 4th control, standard step/direction
it may require 24v signaling not 5v
i will have a read through the manual later (machining to do in daylight hours)

Tomorrow I will post the connection/wiring diagram of drive/Motor and BOB.. Hope you will review it and give me suggestion.. I am very thankful for being with me solving the problem...

As you will study the Manual for helping me whether the control signal will be 5Volts or 24Volts!!!...

However friend of mine (Zafar Salam) have provided me a electronic circuit that convert STEP/DIR signals into CW and CCW for the Servo Drive.. It carrying two IC's 7408 and 7406..

From the circuit given it seems that the Drive can take 5Volts DC!!!

Question About R88D-MT20 controller

Hello,

I was looking for the manual of the R88D and i found it here.

That´s why i entered to write a topic.

I have an R88D-MT20 controller for a R88M-m70012-B servomotor.

The point is that i conected all wires like the manual says.

For the R S T inputs, there are connected there the 3 fases of my net.

That´s correct ??

Because, when i tried to give power to the controller..

It gave me the ALM. 02 .. Overvoltage alarm.

And then never worked again.

Then i found the causes in the same manual,

and they are talking about a transformer of 3 fases for 50Hz not more than 220Volts.. I have 224, 224 and 228 in my fases.. so is saying that it will not work properly.

Then talks about the resistance of regeneration. I desconect the JP1 and JP2 and i see the OHMs .. there are no OHMs there ..

I opened the resistance, and it seems burned.

And then i also noticed that one of the RELAYS OMRON G6B-2214P-US , 24VDC, 5A 250VAC, 5A 30VDC COIL 24VDC.. is burned

Any suggestions of the steps to arrive to fix that ?

I apreciate that,

Ioannis.
