Hello Guys, I need some advice. I am putting together an industrial size CNC wood router (8' x 13'). I want to go with a "plug and play" solution for the Drive/controller and the servo motors. Can you suggest a company? I have looked at Parker's Compax3 also the Gemini. Baldor Electric as some good options too. Something with an RS232 interface (plan on using Bobcad-cam for the software) would be great. Do you have a favorite other than the hobby equipment? I appreaciate it! |

| If you want to go with minimum 'Engineering', off the shelf so-to-speak, you could look at Larken, he sells the complete thing or will sell the electronics and software, you can enter DXF or Corel files and other formats direct, you may not even need Bobcad. http://www.larkencnc.com/ it is a stepper from the PC parallel port but the results are quite impressive, I installed one of his larger tables for a customer and they were very please with the results. I don't know of anything as close as regards plug-and-play as with any custom table there is always Some engineering and leg work to do. If it is just the servo drives you mean, apart from Larken, there is AeroTech,CMC http://www.cmccontrols.com/ and Kollmorgen and Electro-Craft. Al.
