Is this Kollmorgen servostar compatible?

I Have a Kollmorgen Servostar CD servo drive and thinking of buying av dmm-tech 3 axis ac servo kit. The kollmorgen will be used for 4th axis milling and turning operations so alittle more power i appreciated

The brakoutboard from Dmm-tech has these specs:

- Fully buffered Opto-isolated I/O
- Isolated PWM analog output signal for spindle speed control
- Charge Pump relay (2 of NO, 1 of NC, 24V, 1A)
- ESTOP and Servo drive failure hardware logic to stop motor and Charge Pump
- All Inputs anti-noise low pass filter
- Hardware generate secondary X' step/direction from X step/direction for driving Gantry,
X' direction may different from X direction by JMP1
- Up to 3 more Open-Drain outputs could be extended for Flood/Mist/ATC etc
- On board FUSE and Smooth Capacitors for Drive voltage

This is the chematics:

Im going to use it for a cnc mill retrofitting project.

ServoStar CD amplifier for CNC router

Didn't read the whole thread but it sounds like you may need a two signal (step/dir) differential driver, which may cost ~$10.

No, you can't use this breakboard. Kollmorgen need analog input.
so you need to buy breakboard that convert step/dir input to analog input.
I have successfully drive kollmorgen drive/servo with rutex 2040 board.

YES u can use the cd drive - on connector C8 on top it has step/dir input that can be used instead of analog command in c3 connector on front. one or the other.

IF step/dir is what u really have as command to the cd drive.

cd wants differential step/step- & dir/dir- inputs as other post said.... I have got by with just putting 1k resistor from +5 to -diff input and 1k from there to common to supply 2.5vdc to it so +step & +dir input can be single ended.
