Gecko Drives- Good Product-Great service | | I recently purchased a G540 and had it running well when I went to trim up the motors. Despite the warnings in the literature that the trim pots were very delicate, I over torqued one of the pots and the drive crapped out. You should never let a old heavy iron machinist adjust delicate equipment. Our motto is the bigger the wrench, the better.
However, I now had a malfunctioning drive so I called Marcus at Gecko. He was very pleasant on the phone and told me to either send the individual drive or the whole unit back and they would fix it. I promptly mailed it back and several days later received a e-mail describing the damage that I had done. I not only had one drive not working, a second was damaged although still working.
Gecko repaired both drives at no charge even though it wasn't covered by the warranty and returned the unit without shipping charges.
It's not often that you find a company that will stand behind their products like this and when you do, you ought to let others know.
Gecko (aka Marcus) makes great drives and supports them beyond what one would expect. Besides that, he knows a hell of a lot about this stuff and is more than willing to help you out.
Thanks Marcus.
Willy
P.S. He did put a reminder in the package to go easy on the trim pots. |
