Your encoders connect to ch a and b of the rutex cards. The db 25 provides the step and direction signals for the rutex drives. The drive reads the encoders and positions the servos. Mach 2 has no direct connection to the encoders in this set up.
Hello!!
Does everyone can help me as to set R90H rutex servo drives with Mach 2?
I wondering on which pin of DB25 parallel port goes the encoder chanel A and Chanel B. My system include 3 axis XYZ of R90H servo drive, a R990 MB and a R90IO.
Thanks

On your R90H drives (3) you have a DB9 connection. This is your encoder connection. Depending on your encoders you most probably only need 7 pins.. 2 for + & -, 2 for each channel(a & b) and one for the shield. Have you downloaded the PDF for the drive from www.Rutex.com . The PDF explains if fairly well... I am just hooking up my encoders today.
It may be wise to run seperate wires for the power (+ & -) and the channels to minimise any electricial interference.

Many thanks Frans
I am a new user of Rutex boards and Mach2 .
I am a little confused because Mach 2 need to be configured for the ports and pins and as it sais for the encoders too. Are you a Mach 2 user too?
I would be much appreciated if you could help me on the Mach2 confnigurationn for the rutex drives

i think? you need to reverse your STEP AND DIRECTION settings in mach 2 ports and pins
instead of port 1 step2
dir3
step4
dir5
it should be?? port 1 or whatever port your using step3
dir2
step5
dir4
check out page 2 on the rutex r990mb pdf on there site www.rutex.com
