problems with tuning of Rutex drives

I have some problems with my R990H drives:

First I worked with one drive only and made the custom cable as described in the manual. This setup works well, I am able to see all the values of the drive and to tune it. However, when I use the motherboard and the special made SPI connector, all the values are rapidly changing or the program sees no drives or it says that I have an old revision number of the firmware. In other words something is wrong with the communication between th pc and the drives.
Can someone point me to the right direction?

    Frank

When using the mother board. do you use the resitors across pin 1-2 and 3-4 ?
Read about it in the manual. You need these just when you are tuning your drives.
    Being outside the square !!!

    Hi Ynneb,

According to the manual I have pin 1 and 2 and pin 3 and 4 connected to get the drives in SPI mode. I think I had a bad connection( although I used the same cable with my geckos) between the motherboard and the printerport. The next day I re-connected everything and the whole system was working.

    Thanks anyway,

    Frank

PS: Now and then I have some quirks in my Y and Z motors. Today I gonna make some new encoder connections
