    Default Yaskawa LX3 servopack alarm

    Hi,

My friend has HitachiSeiki HT20 CNC Lathe with Yaskawa LX3 controller.

Machine is working just fine when rapid selection is at 25%, but if
we try to run it at 100% rapid it gives us following alarms:

    390 Servopack alarm
    391 Servopack alarm
    310 servo off

    Any help will be appreciated.

    Thank you

What alarm code does it give on the drive itself?

Overvoltage. Probably on the DC bus inside the drive. You may get round this by replacing either a transistor and/or a resistor on the braking circuit.

    Thank you for your help.

If i post a picture of a servopack, would you be able to point me to right direction where to look for that transistor or resistor?

    hi crocnc,

not real sure where to get the transistors or resistors, but thought I would mention that a guy i know recently got a brand new retrofit drive from Yaskawa that replaced the old SR drives on the Hitachis that he installed himself. He said they called it a Type II. may be worth checking out.

    Default servo alarm #4

Can you provide any more information about this retrofit?

Does anybody knows if i can run Hitachi HT20 lathe with PC and Mach3?
How to make connections if it is possible?

From what I understand it is a new style servopack with the same wiring connections and mounts up exactly the same. The guy I know was told that it was built with parts readily available today so repair and replacement is much easier. I'd call yaskawa for more details since I've only heard about it.

    Hope this helps.
