Default What kind of motor is been used here?

    Hello!

I am starting to design a transplanting machine and looking at some commercial brands for reference.

The picture is from a TTA PackPlanter machine which seems to use servo motors to move the grippers. I attached the picture.

Would you know what kind of motor it is or what the component inside the red circle is?

    Thanks!

That appears to be a gear box that either operates a ball screw or a Linear Actuator.
If the motor has brushes it is a DC servo or if none then could be BLDC motor.

    Thanks for answer.

Btw, for this kind of application, which motor would you think is the best suitable for the independent grippers?
Brushed DC servo, BLDC or stepper with feedback. Each driver will need to be with each motor, so there is a space limitation.
I bet for either brushed or brushless servos but not sure about the drivers yet due to cost and space.

Those 12 motors seen in the video are Oriental Motors from their stepper line.
