    Default Servo driver wiring

I have a 2kw servo motor and driver. I have powered it single phase.

Does a single phase servo driver require a circuit breaker, noise filter & a magnetic contactor?

    regards

For initial testing those are not required. Once setup for a machine they are highly recommended. That is a large servo driver, bigger than most hobby machines use

Is this servo your spindle drive? Normally just the breaker would be fine, but it depends on your system and use. The contactor would be a good idea if you want a hard E-stop, rather than using just the servo E-stop function.

Yes, you should add these to your circuit. I have attached page 26 from the Yaskawa SGMP manual.

    Hope this helps,

Appreciate the help guys including the pdf but I am confused where the earth wire from the wall would through this kind of setup.
From the wall there is Live,Neautral & Ground.

Without the setup Iron Man has suggested I just run Live to L1(R) and Neatural to L3(T). Leave L2(S) unused. And then Earth into PE terminal of the servo driver.

That sounds correct for a UK setup.

Then how would I implement this UK wiring through all the contactors, circuit breakers? Do I just run the earth wire separate from the wall straight to the PE of the servo driver, bypassing the circuit breaker, contactor, noise filter etc

Yes,, the earth should always be a direct connection between the machine and the wall/panel.

A contactor should be used as part of the E-Stop string which typically would control the coil of the contactor.
What is the servo motor operating?

@ al_the_man: small project. cnc machine drive belt actuator.

From the replies I assume now that magnetic contactor is for E-STOP?
Doesn't servo driver have good enough E-STOP.

Therefore if I want to just protect the driver would circuit breaker and noise filter be suffice?
