I've purchased a 2200W 15NM 220V servo motor and driver.
There are three connections on the back. CN1, CN2 & CN3
CN1: 36 pin - Interface and control Input/Output
CN2: 26 pin - Interface and ecoder Input Signal
CN3: 1394 Firewall connector - Something to do with RS485
I believe I have purchased the wrong motor. I wanted to connect the driver to PC via RS485 into a serial or USB port there for asked for a RS485 version not knowing it will be through a firewire connector.
CN1 is unconnected. What is this used for?
CN2 is connected to the Motor
CN3 is a 1394 connector which I connected via USB adaptor and nearly burnt the motherboard out.
I'm abit stuck and trying to salvage what seems to have a lost cause. Can CN1 be connected to a PC via 36pin to USB (Printer cable)
Is RS485 dedicated to CN3 port only? If so it's game over.
