Great! Sounds like gears are turning!

I am going to wait a little bit on the Phoenix contact. eBay and Amazon sell it, but it is about $155 and both are in new condition.

It's time to start thinking about wiring so attached is a manual for your servo drives.

I was just sorry to see the IDC edge connector used on the older legacy boards go in favour of the odd ball one used now.
It made it so much easier to interface.

It was probably a whole lot cheaper too.

I really don't like the new D-sub format, all of the cables take up too much panel real estate. I'm kinda partial to the old 80 and 100 pin format. Much more compact.

Is there a difference between one 100 pin connector and another? I am looking at some options for buying them and I am noticing that one kind has a plug that looks more square, while another type has a more rounded plug appearance. Both are said to be 100 pin cables. Would buying one or the other make any difference? I don't know if they are product specific.

The only ones that I have seen are shaped like any D-sub cable connector, or more like a SCSI connector. Look at the connector on the Galil card, it should mate to that.

The one 'more square' is probably the old style used on the DMC-1000 series, these are termed IDC connectors.
Quite a few of the terminal manufacturers made break-outs terminal boards for these cables.

Jim, I found my Anilam 1100 manual. It looks like it has every wire schematic that has anything to do with anything on it's electronics. I will scan and post those schematics here shortly so you can see what is going on with my setup. Some of them pertain only to the two axis system, so they may or may not have anything to do with my setup.

Well, perhaps I spoke too soon. I imagine the schematics are copy righted. I don't know if I can actually post them online come to think of it.

Probably not a good idea, not sure how all that works.
