    Default Yaskawa Software

    Hello Everyone,

I am building a CNC table and using Yaskawa Servo's but I can't seem to find where I can download the software on Yaskawa's site for this older model. Its an SGD-02BS amplifier. I have tried their new software, Sigma win-lite and even the old dos version SVMON which still doesn't list the SGD amps, just the SGDA's and newer.

    Any help would be appreciated.

You may need a hand held programer, to do those drives, I would try the SGDA programming software first, as the hand programer may be hard to find for those drive's as well

Yeah using SGDA just tells me its the wrong drive and to select the correct one, Sigma win just shows Unsupported Drive and the new one doesn't scan a thing. I know there is software somewhere for it I have used it on an old Flow controller quite a few years ago. It was a dos based version of SVMON but had SGD listed... Just wish I kept a copy..

I might just have to contact Yaskawa and wait... or just buy another Sigma 2 off Ebay.

Well like everyone tells you Google it. I rephrased the search and found a copy of the old 2.1 version with SGD servo-packs in it.

Glad you found it, Yaskawa still have most of the information on Drives/Motors at there site, it just takes some finding sometimes, By your first post I thought that you had tryed SVMON software

I had tried the SVMON software. The version I found first is 3.5r2 but it doesn't have the older drives. The 2.1 version I found later did..

Now onto other issues... You can't monitor alarms, or manual jog in the software with these older ones, I guess I'll have to open the connector and check the alarm outputs to see why it's faulting on servo on...

Buying another Sigma 2 motor is sounding better and better.. On the plus side I know the constants are correct now.

You may find something in this PDF that may help you

For jog you need the digital operator

Alarm showed an encoder fault... Accidentally hooked up +5 and ground wrong in the connector... luckily it didn't damage anything.

And all works now. Thanks for the advice.

That was a lucky one, that the 5v was going to ground,

I think others would like to know as well, what wires went to the pin numbers you used & for what each wire did, if you have them, & have the time to post them, I'm sure it would help others doing these plugs as well, I know a lot of people have problems wiring the drive plugs

    Default Growling Yaskawa

I just wired a Yaskawa SGD-02BP drive and SGM-02B314 motor.
The motor growls but doesn't turn. I don't have a JUSP-OP digital operator so am using SVMON 2.1 MS-DOS software. An alarm on the servopack drive appears after 5 seconds and the growling stops. The CN1 cable is disconnected. I feel like I'm missing something basic... and I don't want to fry anything.
    Thanks for any words.

    Default Svmon 2.1

    Thank you very much.
I have a problem runing the prog, when I start I get an error "MOTOR.TBL was
    change".
After pressing OK I get an error "SGDP.TBL was change.
Can you please check if it is working for you ?
Svmon V3.5 is working nice but is not compatible with the SGD drive.

    Thanks
    Meir Mark.

    Red face

Hi, I'm a new member to the CNCZone. I found your forum with "meirmark" very helpful, I have exactly the same problem as "meirmark" so I downloaded your link for SVMON2.zip. As soon as its runs it comes up with "Table file MOTOR.TBL was change. Install table file to PC from backup disc" After I click OK and select my servo model "SGD**-AP" I get a similar message, "Table file SGDP.TBL was change. Install table file to PC from backup disc". Any ideas?? I started to write my own version of this program a few years ago and frustratingly I didn't get very far so I was extremely happy to hear of SVMON2.1. Please help! Martin

Have you tried the latest software available from yaskawa? I just downloaded it last week and used it without problem on a mid 90s flow water jet. Worked perfect.

Looks like the software checks the time stamp of the file and wont open if it's not correct. Here is a new zip with the proper time stamps

Thanks for all the information everybody has brought.
I tried the svmom 2-1r3.zip and it has the same errors as the first.
Any idea what I am doing wrong?
    Thanks again.

    Good Morning,
I appreciate this thread is very old.
I'm really struggling to locate this DOS version of SVmon. I've even spoken to Yaskawa UK who cannot help!

Could anyone help me out? It must be out there somewhere.

    Thank you so much
