I can't answer the question about running Mach 3 on a 64 bit machine, but there is already a way to use Mach 3 with USB. There is a product called Smooth Stepper that does this.

Hello All,
I'm wondering, first is there any plans to convert Mach3 to use the USB port ? Second, Is there a way to run Mach3 on a 64bit machine ?
Thanks
Paul

I believe that if you use a SmoothStepper, you can run it in 64bit Windows.

While a lot of people are using the SmoothStepper and really like it, keep in mind that it's still in beta and there are some features not yet implemented, most notably it has no Backlash Comp right now. You might want to browse the www.machsupport.com forum to see if you can find more info there.

And, btw, Art is no longer the developer of Mach3. He still answers the occasional questions on the Yahoo group and Mach3 forum, but that's about it. He is still working on Mach3 related things in his spare time, though.
