Storing jpg files for new screen layouts

I have been using Jetcam Screen Designer to modify an existing 1024.set file. Jetcam creates quite a number of jpg files as part of the process.

Do the jpg files have to be stored in the /Mach/Bitmaps folder ? Is this location mandatory or can they be stored in a location relative to the .set file ? I'd like to keep the files in a separate location from the original files. Also, if I design a second .set file, it would be nice to keep this all separate. I can see a huge mess in the making if I don't get this right.

Use a new name for the screen, and create a folder with the same name in the bitmaps\ folder. So if you're screen file is newscreen.set, the .jpg's would go in Mach3\bitmaps\newscreen\

Any macros for the screen would go in Mach3\macros\newscreen\

This allows you to have multiple screen sets installed and still keep everything separated.

I spoke too soon. I just tried moving and renaming the directories with the bitmap / jpg files and nothing happened.

Any idea where the more obvious mistakes tend to be made with this sort of problem ? I'm wondering if the problem results from having started with the original 1024.set file and then modifiying it and saving under a new name. There must be other files related to that .set file.

I think that modifying an existing screen is where you're running into problems. No easy way around that, without going through the entire screen and changing all the image locations.
