I like your layout so far Gerry. Nice and clean.

You will never come up with a simplified screen layout that will suit everybody of course.

For example you need five DROs and like to use a lot of offsets.

I want a large toolpath view and Z zero and Laser zero.

Dertsap wants a single block button (I have never used it)

The next user wants other things.

What I see as the best part of what you are doing is to show how easy it is for users to make a screen set to suit their own wants and needs.

To inspire people to have a go.

This may be the final Run screen layout. But you never know.

looks nice , it sort of has that soft touch look to it , are you planning on ever using a touch screen monitor , cause that would be pretty sweet with that kind of a layout

Not even close. There's probably less than half of what's on the standard run screen, plus a few added things for my use. There are only 3 screens, and the one I haven't shown is half empty, and the load program screen is pretty simple as well. The tricky part is figuring what I need without having
a machine to use it with right now.

There's no toolpath on the run screen. It's only on the load program screen. The large black area in post #16

Since there are really no current Flash docs for mach3 screens right now ( supposedly they'll be released soon), I decided to get this running using Mach's screen designer (Screen4). I still have quite a few things to get working, but the Load Programs screen is complete, and about half the Run screen. The settings screen is non functional right now, except for the buttons to switch screens. The downside is that to simplify the process, all the button labels can not be changed. Doesn't matter to me, but if anyone wanted to modify it, they can't change the button text. With any luck, I may have this finished by the end of this weekend, or next week probably for sure.

So far I just have one little problem, the triangular LED on the cycle start button randomly doesn't work or display the wrong color (red or green).

Before my trial of RealDraw Pro runs out in a few days, I'll re-label some of the buttons and set up the screen set for a single Z axis machine, then I'll make it available to whoever wants to try it. So I'll have about 5 additional buttons on the Run screen to play with. Last chance for suggestions. Also, is anything else needed on the settings page? I added a status line and a mode line above the MDI.

Doing some testing yesterday, I see that not having the toolpath on the run screen makes a BIG difference in CPU usage. On my dual core desktop, running on the Run screen, CPU usage is under 10%. But if I switch to the Load screen with the toolpath window, CPU usage jumps to about 50-55%. This is the main reason I did it this way, and might make a noticeable difference on slower PC's.

Updated Settings Screen. I think I need to add an MPG Axis selector, and maybe a probe input LED. But that should be it.
