Thank you once more dertsap !

    UPDATE:

I´ve checked the hardware with an osciloscope in the hopes of finding a dead RS232 <> TTL level converter or something wrong with the cable or even the comm port but all is working well.

I´ve also scanned all possible slave addresses at all comm speeds ranging from 2400 to 115200 issuing a code 17 request ( Report slave ID getting ) but got no response.

I´m pretty much stuck at this point ... I can´t help but think that this unit is defective or bears a different configuration ...

Hello , I bought one of these units also, and I am having a little trouble getting it set up. Is there some way to reconfigure the step settings for the mpg mode. Right now it is set to 0.01 and I would like it to be 0.001.The rest of the buttons seem to work alright, although I can't use the arrow keys for rapiding when I have the mpg is hooked up.
Also do I need the usb plugin from the diycnc.org site ?

    Thanks Rick
