OK, 100% new to any CNC, & mach program. I have read up on all I'm working with, & have managed to get my setup working. My problem is: I open Mach3 (trial version) & can set & configure everything to work great, but, upon closing & reopening, I lose all adjustments. Have tried the following: 1: "Save Configuration" under the config menu 2: tried renaming one of the "xm#" files in the "past xml files" folder And, just to clarify, I am working with a secondhand system. The PO had a working XML file that I'm working with, & upon close & reopen, I lose any changes. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. I've done several searches, & haven't found anything of this nature. edit: Also to clarify, I'm trying to change settings for: 1: Steps per unit 2: slave axis Last edited by Jethrobodean; 05-05-2011 at 09:06 AM. dialogue box (which is where you set the steps/unit) you need to hit the "save axis" button for each axis you change, or it ignores the changes. (This is easy to miss - don't feel bad...) Andrew Werby ComputerSculpture.com — Home Page for Discount Hardware & Software |

Thank you Andrew, though that did initially get me, that was not the problem in this case. Ger21 actually called it. As I said, I'm working with a file someone else had originally created, & it was set read only. On a side note, I also double checked the new XML I created using the original as a clone. Evidently the read only status followed through, the only difference between the new & old was the title. I thought that a little odd. Thank you both for the assistance, off to learn some more. |
