Mach 3 needs g code to control your machine. Catia is high dollar CAD soft ware but I can't determine if it is capable of creating g code.
Hi! I'm have read mostly all the Mach 3 Tutorial and I'm currently building my own cnc machine. I'm studing Electronics Engineering so I had no problems with the connections but I don't know how to create a file in Catia V5 for importing in Mach 3...If someone please could explain to me a little or suggest a program for building the link between Catia and Mach 3.
Thanks!
Ari.-

If you have the full license (all workbenches) of Catia - it does have several machining workbenches where you can tool path your 3D model (ie create a G-code file).
If not - you will have to save the cad model out in a format that your CAM software can work with to create a G-code file. CATIA v5 can save out in various formats - including STL (stereolithography) format. Then you can use a CAM software - like Aspire, MasterCAM, MeshCAM, etc etc... to create the toolpath G-code file.
