I don't think it is really necessary too worry to much about moving the axes; the oil does not drain out of these. However, after several days of shut down for VMCs the oil in the spindle drains down to the lower bearing assembly and if they are suddenly run up to top speed they will probably get hot. I use Haas machines and they have a Warm-Up program that starts at 500 rpm for about 4 minutes, then up to 2500 rpm for another 4 minutes, the 5000 rpm, etc until the maximum spindle speed is reached.
Regarding coolant yes it will probably stink and one thing to do is rig up a hose from the coolant pump spraying directly back into the coolant tank and just let the pump run for an hour or so. This agitates the coolant, introduces a lot of air and doesn't spread smelly coolant all over the inside of the machine.
