    Is Boelube Safe

Orelube state in thier msds that Boelube70104 is non toxic but may cause irritation to the respiratory system.
All I can find out is that this product is made from Plant long string fat acids ????????
I am not a scientist so don't understand quite what this means but had assumed the product safe.
On 02/03/2012 I was diagnosed with industrial asthma due to exposure to Boelube 70104.
I would like to hear from anyone using Boelube either positive or negative response, just want to find out more about the effects of this product.

    Thanks all

Thanks for the msds but I already had a uk version.
What I was really looking for was someone who has had a reaction as well.
I really don't want to be the "one in a million".
What I would really love to know is what it's real made from so I can find a coolant which is safe for me.

Probably every coolant will cause irritation to the respiratory system if it is inhaled as an aerosol. So you will never find a coolant that is "safe".

The only way to be safe is to make sure that you don't inhale a coolant aerosol which means always wear a good filter mask and/or ensure the coolant aerosol is removed from the air.

Is that "Boelube" the coolant that Boeing used to have? I believe that was made from Jojoba bean oil. Just guessing, that was a long time ago.LOL

    Hi
Yes it's Boelube 70714 liquid, It was developed by Orelube in conjunction with Boeing.
Boeng insist on it's use when manufacturing their components. Neither Boeing or Orelube will tell me what it's made from.
Orelube's MSDS does state that prolonged exposure can cause irritation to the respiretory sytem.
I am begining to think I am "the one in a million" case that has developed an Asthmatic response to Boelube liquid.
All I want is to find an alternitive that is made from something else so I can continue to do the job I love.
    Thanks for your assistance

If you have developed a sensitivity to one coolant it is almost certain you will experience similar problems with any coolant. Your best bet is to invest in a good breathing filter system which includes activated charcoal filters.

    Hi
    Thanks for your comments.

If only my managers had an ounce of common sense it would be a start.
The problem with masks are that Boelube has the same specific gravity as air when misted and redistributed via a extractor unit in the work space.
I also have had a beard for the last 30 years, (the wife would leave if I shave).
