Default Laser cutting machine: can be dangerous?

    Hello to all

I'm a design student and the university provides the laser cutting machine " Yueming CM1390 ". CMA1390C new high-speed laser cutting machine_Hans Yueming Laser

Can anyone tell me if these machines are harmful to health? There are no emissions of radiation that can be dangerous? Watch the laser through the glass of the machine is dangerous for the eyes ? Unfortunately no one at the university can give me a precise explanation and a clear answer .

    Thanks for the help ,
    LD

The short answer is yes. I don't believe radiation is an issue, but looking at the cut can be very hard on your eyes (so generally try not to) though not like welding. Welding google work if you really need to see the cut while in operation.

The most obvious danger is over riding the safety mechanisms and putting a body part in front of the beam path, my brother has a scar from that.

Oh and the potential for high voltage (low power) arcs that could stop your heart, I can't forget to mention that.

In case anyone is wondering, I'm the twin of the other gfacer on cnczone...
