Hi everyone. this is for those who are on a budget build. The cheapest way to build a type A rockliff machine is instead of using precision ground bar for the linear bearings, use EN24 bright steel bar. Its relatively accurate and hard, and works fine. Cost wise, I just bought 6 meters of 5/8 diameter for £25 compared with about £2 for 100mm of precision ground. Just thought i'd let people know if they're on a budget |

| i agree. i got advice from my steel supplier and bright ground bar was perfectly acceptable for my application. and the price is a huge relief to a first time buyer. any large steel supplier should be able to help you out, just ring ahead. |
