    rhinocam and next engeine 3d scanner

    anyone have positive experience with this program and 3 d scanner

    I have used both. Rhino and rhinocam can handle as much mesh geometry as your computer can support. Expect the meshes generated in Nextengine to be large. These can be decimated to a smaller size within the Nextengine environment.

    I recommend looking into ZBrush, as a method of cleaning up your scans before machining.

    I often use scans as a basis for machining with RhinoCAM, but not from that particular scanner. Export your scans as STL and the program shouldn't have a problem with them, assuming your computer has the capacity to handle large files.
