anybody?
Hi Guys,
Have just jumped into the whole CAM thing, helping a friend get his cnc machine up and running.
I have modelled up a dome (cutting out of foam) and I am trying to machine the finishing pass with the 'RADIAL machining' option. On the attached PDF I can currently only get RhinoCAM to cut as shown in 1. Where the bit machines one half of the dome, retracts up to the clearance plane and goes back to the start point for the next cut.
I am wanting to machine more like number 2 on the PDF, where the bit machines over the whole surface of the dome and doesnt keep retracting up to the clearance plane after each cutting pass.
The next hurdle I am waiting to jump over is to machine the dome surface using the fourth and fifth axis as shown on number 3 on the PDF. I have attached a picture of a similar setup. Can anyone point me in the right direction for setting up rhinocam to use the machines 4 and 5 axis?
Cheers Guys.

Sounds like you need to switch the cut parameter to be zigzag mode. Zig mode will pull up and return to the center again, zigzag should go back and forth (and be a lot faster without all those clearance plane returns).
