Help me figure out this tool path

I am using a user defined woodruff key cutter that needs to cut an inner groove (like an o-ring groove). The problem is that the tool plunges and retracts through the top of the parts edge instead of the middle where it can clear. How do I change where the tool plunges and retracts to the middle of the diamond shaped toolpath below? By the way this is a 2.5 axis profiling MOP with the highlighted region set as bottom of cut geometry.
