Rhino Works fine with MeshCAM. Did you try exploding in DesignCAD before saving the .dxf, as I suggested in your other thread?
I am tring to use DesignCAD 3D Ver. 14 and MeshCAD.
I have already purchased MeshCAD.
But DesignCAD cannot export to STL, and exported DXF file cannot be loaded by MeshCAD correctly.
I am considering to buy Rhino 3D to generate DFX file or STL for MeshCAD.
Is anyone who are using this pair?
Is Rhino 3D works well with MeshCAD.
I have Student ID. So probably I can get big benefit to get Rhino 3D.
Also is there any limitation on Rhiho 3D education version against normal version?
Thank you.

Hi, ge21. Thank you for your help.Originally Posted by ger21
Yes, I tried exploding. And I selected polygon option instead of 3d mesh for exporting to DFX. But the DFX file still have rectangular plane and it is not loaded by MeshCAM.
Also I tried to use a conversion tool I menthioned yesterday, it made system really unstable. I am using Windows XP, whenever I used the conversion tool, the system crashed.
Because I am new in CAD and CAM, I need to use relatively easy CAD app with rich tutorials.
In case of DesignCAD, it is easy to learn and has good tutorial source, but it doesn't really match with MeshCAM.
Any guide?
I might still have a demo of DesignCAD at home. I'll check and see if I have an answer for you.

No. Only the price is different. The programs are the same. Once you are finished with school, you can take your seat of Rhino to the job site and legally use it.Also is there any limitation on Rhiho 3D education version against normal version?
