I need to carve a Celtic knot pattern that is lofted on a surface. I have the base surface and the polyline curves of the knot applied to the surface. For some reason portions of the knot will not cap when extruded even though the other side that was mirrored caps without issue. I have been banging my head on the key board over this for days and the client is getting impatient.
This does not have to be done in Rhino but I am familar with Rhino and know how to machine Rhino geometry with my Enroute 4.0 software. I guess any STL and DXF exchange would work. Enroute will import STL files and I can convert most others to this with Rhino. I have a Flexicam Stealth CNC and would be happy to take Gcode from other software. Enroute does not output arcs in anything but the X,Y axis so 3d can be somewhat tedious in all straightline moves. Flexicam surfaces at Z0 and all moves into the material on the Z are positive and moves away from the material are negative. I quess this is weird for most controllers. It has been something that Rob (our usual savior) has always taken exception with
Rob from this forum has always solved these issues but he got deployed to Afganistan and is ureacheable at this point. (although his wife says he is safe and out of harms way thank God) I defintely need someone proficient with 3D design to help out until he returns. I am able to pay a reasonable fee for work on these type of issues.
I have never figure out how to post files on CNCZone. If someone enlightens me on how to post a file I will show you what I have in both the old render (before the designers changes) and then the new knot that I have now. Thanks.
