    what cam program?

I am expecting Rhino V4 on Wednesday. I have been using Rhino V3 demo for the last 2 weeks. I was planning on using TurboCNC but I can't find a good program to convert to g code, and I have tried the gcode script, doesn't do what I wanted.

Long story short, what CAM program do you guys use and what do you recommend for what I am milling? Included is a sample but its basically wax for casting silver/gold rings.

    Recommendations?

The author of meshcam sent me an email telling me about his product, it looks like it will do what I need it to. Meshcam is $149.

Madcam is a plugin for Rhino. It's what I use and I love it. I don't know if the no charge deal is still in effect for Madcam 2 nor do I know if Madcam 2 will work in Rhino4. A quick email to Madcam will give you that info though.

    madCAM "No Charge Competitive Upgrade"

madCAM 2 only works with Rhino 3.0 and the "No Charge Competitive Upgrade" will probably end at the end of this month. madCAM 4 will work with Rhino 4.0 and is just about finished. madCAM 4 cost around $1,995, upgrade from madCAM 2 to madCAM 4 is $495.

I would suggest you get the madCAM "No Charge Competitive Upgrade" now and then upgrade that to madCAM 4.0 for $495.

You can apply for the madCAM "No Charge Competitive Upgrade" and get the madCAM Rhino 3.0 version and have the option to upgrade later to madCAM 4.0.

    madCAM "No Charge Competitive Upgrade"

madCAM was never free. But you still have time to get the "No Charge Competitive Upgrade". Offer expires on Feb 28, 2007.
