Rhino tutorial questions

OK, so I am a complete CAD idiot, and am trying to learn using the tutorial in the demo, and have a question or two.

I have noticed in the 'duck' tutorial that when trying to interpolate the curve between the head and bill, the curve does not want to move smoothly, IOW, it jumps around by at least a box on the view, if not 2 boxes, where the tutorial view clearly shows it curving in smaller increments. Am I missing something?

I am trying to use this in my decison making and am trying to learn the limitations of the program

If I understand you correctly, it sounds like the SNAP is on. Try turning it off by clicking on the word SNAP way down at the bottom of the screen.
