How to get a true Plan view rendering

    Hello,

I could not find another place where the forums seemed active, and am wondering how to render a plan view without it rendering any perspective. I'm trying to do it through vray but so far every time I alter the cameras I never get a true plan view, it always has some perspective to it.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

Rendering from the Top view should be a true plan view, there is no perspective, it is a parallel view viewport.

You can also make the "Perspective" view into a 3D parallel view (i.e.turn off the perspective foreshortening effects): right click on the viewport title, choose "Viewport Properties" from the menu (all the way at the bottom), then, in the next dialog click the "Parallel" radio button and OK. Now your Perspective viewport will have a parallel projection, like a lot of popular CAM software....

If you're going to use this often you can make a template with parallel views saved in it and use that at startup.
