No and I don't believe there are plans to make it work either. Of course, that's what they said about the mac too, but that version is in development. If you know any Linux programmers looking for work, maybe have them contact Bob McNeel!!

I was just browsing internet in search for a way to run rhino on linux. I have a copy of rhino 4 and I plan to try and get it working with wine. I will post on this forum if I get it working.

I use Linux almost exclusively in my daily life. However I have several applications that I still use windows for. I have not used Rhino so I don't know its full requirements. Having said that I have used some pretty graphics intensive applications.
Try Rhino in a virtual machine. I use the free version VirtualBox. It has shared folders that show up in Windows as a network share so transferring data is easy. It also has a mode where your application shows up as just another window on your Linux desktop.
I have tried wine for several things and it almost never works right for me. The other alternative is dual boot but that can be a real PITA too.

Edit: I just went and looked, virtulization is not supported, sorry. Just run it on a Windows box or find another program.

I have no loyalty to any platform. Before I started instrument building, I was a software engineer for 20 years. A few years back I switched my house to Mac, because I got tired of dealing with constant PC problems. When I started working with Rhino, I bought a PC computer for Rhino. PCs are so cheap. Why are you trying to make life hard on yourself? If you just simply can't live without Linux, get a PC dedicated to Rhino, slap Quadro something in it, and go to town.

@john, yes you have a point, the easiest way would be to get a dedicated machine. I dont have the money to spend though (more like other priorities). I guess I like the problem solving part of it as well. And for the greater good of Linux =)
