    Green as Grass -> Rhino3d to Mach3

    Hi All,

    After a long scroll through all the posts here I still can't create Gcodes for my chinese cncmachine...I'm so green!

    Who can explain me in 'windows-english' how to generate Gcodes? My knowledge of computers and software really does not go further than adobe programs.

    I have illustrator, Rhino3d, mach3 and just downloaded a trail version of MeshCAM.

    Apple pie for the one who can help!

    Quoted from Meshcam website; "MeshCAM lets you create toolpaths from your 3D files quickly and easily. No CNC experience is required- you can be cutting parts in minutes."

    I don't know what limitations the trial version has, but I would suggest That you start by reading through the manual.

    I use Rhinocam myself. That is a plug in that integrates fully to Rhino. I had no previous experience with code or toolpaths, but reading manuals, tutorials, help files, and a lot of fiddling makes me feel that I have come a long way the last half year.

    Or even better; try to find someone in your area to show you the basics.

    RhinoCAM is the best integrated

    It plugs into the Rhino workspace and allows you to make modifications on the spot without having to mesh, export, switch programs, import mesh, make changes, switch programs, import, etc. This saves a lot of time, and ultimately gives better results. There's a series of tutorials on the Mecsoft site to help you figure out how to use it. Let me know if you've got any questions about it. I sell it for $800, and can ship to Australia.
