Default ARTCAM, what do others think of there new ways from AUTODESK

i have been a Delcam user for a couple of years now, purchased a download version of its artcam express, I recently have been having trouble with my computer and don't think I can transfer on another computer, if there is a way let me know

I am not really interested in having to purchase a yearly subscription to use there software at a hefty price in my opinion, thinking i will go with a Vectric software, vcarve or aspire maybe.Just on principle. Its to bad cause i really enjoy the software

Wondering what other users think of the way Autodesk has decided to go with the software,

All Autodesk software is now subscription licensed.
How you feel depends on how much the particular software costs.

I honestly prefer to pay one price, and upgrade if and when I want.
But subscription can allow you to use software that you otherwise couldn't afford.

If you consider that Aspire is $2000 plus $400 to upgrade every 2-3 years, ArtCAM is less expensive for the first 7-8 years that you use it.

Ask the people who make the software you like. They should have an easy way to transfer the license to a new computer. No point in learning new software if you like what you have.

If you're using Rhino, take a look at RhinoArt from Mecsoft, which plugs into it. It works similarly to ArtCAM, but you don't have to "subscribe" - buy it once and it's yours.
