In part #1 you want the 1/4-20 tapped .625 +/- .001 deep? How are you going to measure that?
I need the following parts made. These would be a small batch initially for a nearing final version of a prototype/early production assembly I am working on.
Sorry for drawing it in paint but It was a quick and dirty sketch but they are also very simple parts.
Dimensions are as listed in the drawing or:
x.xx" +/- .010"
x.xxx" +/- .001"
Part #1 I am calling "Aluminum Tube" even though it starts out as an Aluminum round bar. See picture below:
Quantity: 15 to start
I would like to have them sent to me finished annodized but if you do not have that capability that is fine I have sources. Quote it both finished and plain if you can do annodizing.
Part #2
I am calling "Counter Weight". It does not have to be terribly precise as it mentions is a counter weight. It essentially is round bar of steel with a 5/8" hole through the center. With an 1/4"-20 set screw hole going midway through the side into the center hole.
Quantity: 10 to start
This needs to have a smooth bur free finish. I would like this powder coated but I can have powder coated locally if you do not have the capability. Quote both ways if you do have capability.
If they work and sell as well as I hope they do then this will likely turn into a reoccurring order.
You may quote either part individually or combine them together. I would prefer to deal with one supplier/machinist if possible. Please include shipping to 44224.
Thanks.
Send PMs for quotes.

It has to be 5/8" deep threads tolerance doesnt need to be to the 0.001" deeper is preferred as long as it doesnt go into the cavity below.
Let me know if there are any other questions.
Hello,
You want 5/8" usable thread, but the hole can't penetrate to the bore below, which is 3/4" away, so there is very little room to taper out the tap. Also, the .62" bore has to be pretty flat-bottomed so as not to protrude into the threaded hole.
In sum, this one feature multiplies the expected cost of the part.
