Please note. Metal will be provided in 20 ft lengths.
Cutting, welding, & Drilling/Punching is required.

    Holes & edges de-burred.

The weld bead does not need to be filed.

I will need this order every 2 months so I need someone who can do a
very good job on this, and offer a good price.

    Thank You

I would like to know how you are quoting without a drawing or specs with tolerances.

I gave the fellow an estimate, but won't give a firm quote without a drawing and some tolerances.

If he hits you back with +/-0.001 on hole position and +0.0005/-0.0000 on hole sizes, what are you going to do?

Don’t let this type of fear mongering scare you away from giving somebody what you feel is a quote.
The guy gave you some pictures and some dimensions. That is what your price is based on, nothing more or less. Maybe throw in some common sense.

Tolerance is his responsibility. No flatness callout, means if it springs after I mill it, it’s your problem. No circularity call out, maybe you get an oval hole. No call out, no problem.

If you buy a shed that is advertised as 10ft x 10ft and it actually measures 9ft 11in x 9ft 10in what are you going to do about it? Nothing, Exactly. It’s just understood.

I do agree with the idea, you should always have things hammered out, in writing before the work begins, so everyone walks away happy. That builds good relationships. You don’t want to screw a guy’s part because he has a new draftsperson.
