    RFQ: thermal block for 3d printer hotend

    Small SS block with a central core and several metric screw holes. See attached file. Would like quote for five of them. Thanks.

    stainless block

    Is the file you sent in inches and 1 to 1 scale? Not sure of the dimensions I am getting are correct.

    Sorry about that ... units are in mm unless noted otherwise. Drawing does not print to scale 1:1.

    Hi,

    Just curious as why you are using stainless steel for the thermal block? I plan to build my own printer one day too. Why not use aluminium? If you are worried about corrosion, could you use Nickel to get a higher thermal conductivity rating?

    Good question! Most likely that option will be explored down the road. These pieces are for prototype machines.
