Just submitted 17 parts to FirstCut.com. They are probably going to be very expensive.
There are actually 18 parts, one is turned, which they can't do.
Requirements:
CNC Mill
CNC Lathe
Debur/Bead-blast/Tumbler deburring (almost any approach will work for these parts)
Anodizing
Laser marking
Work directly from SolidWorks files (I hate doing prints unless I absolutely have to).
Tolerances are not tight.
Several of the parts consist of drilling and tapping flat stock after cutting to size/shape.
One of the parts is a 16 inch long picatinny rail profile with a few holes drilled/tapped. No recoil slots.
There are a couple of parts that have a little more machining work.
One round steel shaft (drill stock) cut to length, grooved for a retaining ring, chamfered and one flat cut for setscrew.
Another round part starts as a 1 inch nominal aluminum rod, cut to 6 in length, drill-tap both ends, chamfer.
The point is that all the parts are pretty simple.
I need to prototype this design and then look into making a small run (10 to 25 sets). Following that we'd be looking at 100 to 1,000 sets at a time. Not sure yet.
PM if interested.
