RFQ - Short Run Pool Cue Holder

I'm looking for a manufacturing company that can produce aprox 1,000 units of a 2 piece metallic pool cue holder. The device's pieces measure about 4"x3"1/2" and 4"x1 1/2"x1/2". Our original prototype was created using aluminum and we'd like to continue using it.

The one of the two pieces needs a threaded hole drilled in it so that we can add a screw/hook through it. Finally, the outer perimeter of one of the pieces needs to be surrounded with a thin rubber.

Ideally, I'm looking for a manufacturer that can provide a comprehensive solution for doing every element of production. It's not a deal breaker though.

As far as the manufacturing process goes, we've gotten quotes for die casting that were way above what we're willing to spend on a device with an unproven track record. I'm looking a solution that gives us a quality product with a minimal cost (isn't everybody?)

I have set up a special website for our prospective manufacturers so that they can see images of the device, read full specs, etc. Please email me directly at CarletonTorpin <AT> Gmail <DOT> com and I can send you the link. Obnoxious email formatting, I know but I work hard to keep my email spam free.

This is a product I want to start production on very shortly. Like all consumer goods, the Holiday season is an important time and this needs to be available by then.

Please post your target price. If die casting was too expensive, you just might have priced yourself out of the market.

    Thanks for the Reply Matt,

The quote I got for die casting was $10,000 to make a mold plus $20 per unit. That is too much of an investment at this point. $20 is not an unreasonable price for both pieces but the initial setup costs are prohibitively expensive.
