just wondering what other people make with their robots? I have a small industrial unit, with a dremel like rotor attached, only thing I can think of is drilling holes and carving out text. YAWNNNN....any thoughts?

| Benny you are a mind reader!!! I was just looking into that a few minutes ago, the chemicals look a little scarey, athough I am surprised at how simple in theory it is to design/make cicuit boards. ( I am sure it is harder then it appears as with anything) ![]() I have made the letter "k" using the dremel and robot together, This robot is old, and can't handle text files, it was originally meant for point to point programing. I think a repeatable task is ideal for this thing.

| Would it be possible to use it to load/unload parts? If you have a run of several parts, you could program it to load the part (maybe on a vacuum fixture), wait a set period of time while the part is running, then unload. Then start over. Of course the part you are making would have to be programmed to run unattended. But I think it would be pretty cool. Start it up, and take a nap. A couple hours later, several parts could be done. |

| DAB Design It could be used for that, also as a tool changer too I suppose.I may do that with the other one I have if I can get it to work. I would like to make something simple with it. I have thought of adding a plasma cutter to it or a welder also, something that will not put a lot of load on it physically. Funny how I spent alot of time getting this thing to operate, and now i can't think of a use for it I think the fun was in trying to "make it work" .

| Well if you just can't figure anything out, do what these guys did...let everyone control it online! ![]() http://telerobot.mech.uwa.edu.au/Telerobot/index.html I haven't actually registered and tried it. |

| i dont think many robot arms can come near the accuracy required for making circuit boards! in fact, i think even very modern, expensive robot arms opeated by an experienced person would have alot of trouble milling those traces... however, it could automate a chemical-bath process, or cooler, load blank PCBs in and out of a small PCB mill.. That would be neat... sort of like those silly CD dplicators with the little 2DOF robot arm on it... A toolchanger robot is another good idea, but that sounds, actually to me, quite difficult to pull off! i love robot arms, and want to build one eventually, but for now i doodle kinematic diagrams.. i dont have an application for a robot arm....

| Buy a tavern and place it at the end of the bar. Seems to work pretty good in the video. Robotic arms look like more fun than they are. Mine sucks up room most of the time. Getting the arm to work is just the beginning. Then you have to take out a mortgage to buy everything that relates to it. Quick change plates, end effectors, I/O, sensors and switches, jigs and fixtures, and all the programming. I've never had a gee-wiz moment with mine. Get one thing figured out and then move on to the next. The never ending story. Like boats. |

Do you need my shipping address? ![]() Or teach it to weld, then jump around to avoid the sparks & humdingers, & you won't have any more of those big yaaaaaawns! |
