Hello We've aquired an Asea IRB6 arm, ESAB wire feed welder, what appears to be the full controls w/ teach pendant, and 2 LARGE 2 axis positioning tables. It came as part of a package, and we're trying to decide if it's worth keeping. Quick inspection leads me to believe it's setup for 480 3ph, we've got a 240 3 ph feed at the shop. We're atleast the second owner since it was removed from its first home. Honestly, I'd like to play with it. Just to see if it works. But the man with the $$$ wants it gone if we can't use it ![]() Anybody know where you'd sell something like this?? The arm and tables seem to have some decent ball screws and servos which I know can be parted out. But If something like this worth anything intact? thanks |

| See this one touted the oldest in the UK originally purchase 28 years ago for £58,000 (~US$122,000.00). http://www.abb.it/global/gbabb/gbabb901.nsf!OpenDatabase&db=/global/gbabb/gbabb905.nsf&v=F4A&e=us&url=/global/seitp/seitp202.nsf/0/737EEF62DFAA583680256DE200517085!OpenDocument It claims it was the first to use an electrically operated aluminum arm for fast operation. Seems a shame to strip it. Al.

| If you strip it I would be interested in the stepper motor. I understand there is a very large stepper in the bottom of the thing that positions the arm. I don't know how many steppers it has but I need the largest one, what ever that happens to be. Keep me posted. Thanks. |

| Try any industrial machinery seller, they should be able to tell you what it's worth... What ever value they tell you, you know it's worth higher though, because if they purcahse it, they are gonna sell it for more... come up with a figure and throw it up on ebay and see what happens... |
