Hi all need some guidance here on the level of complexity involved in automating the following process before I start laying out cash.

Basically a SICK smart camera identifies a rectangular edge on a product and then this info is fed to a controller which directs a milling head on the end of an ABB IRB 6000 with M93 Controller to machine directly the identified edge.

The location and size of the rectangular edge can vary and hence the need for intelligence and feedback from the camera to the robot.

I'm only getting into robotics and automation so any help, guidance, advice or suggestions would be geatly appreciated. Also on the hardware and software required.
