John Rice of Northampton Engineering Services, the Midlands-based agent of Broadbent Stanley, has revealed that it has sold eight BS series high-speed precision centre lathes in a few months.

Derek Wood, machine shop foreman of LB Bentley of Stroud, Gloucestershire, said: ‘We manufacture sub-sea valves for the oil plus gas industry.

‘We use some tough materials plus machine to exacting tolerances, so they needed a robust but accurate machine.
