BLDC Machine Tool Motors

Hi all! I'm pleased to bring a new range of BLDC motors to market. Adlee Powertonic produce some very fine motors - certainly reaches above mainland China's offerings! I've personally been using them for a couple of years now, and found them to be Industrially reliable. They're general purpose prime-movers and not specific machine tool motors, but none the less work very well on metal work machinery.

Generally, Adlee greatly under-rates their motors. They're tested in 40c ambient temps, so an average temp of 20c should see higher achievable ratings.

All motors have these features in common:

- Mach 3 compatible - works with most speed control boards (tested with CNC4PC C6)
- Fully programmable settings (Accel, Decel, P gain, I gain, plus many others)
- Built-in overheat protection (100c cut out).
- Stall/Overload Protection
- MODBUS Compatible (haven't tested this feature).

I've evaluated some motors and found 3 models that should be of interest to the hobby / light production crowd:


AM370-H, 370watt rated, 1100watt MAX, 6000RPM. Available in 110v or 220v options (not dual voltage, +/- 10%). It's a likely drop-in replacement for the Seig SX3 machine (except the control panel). It should give you slightly more power and the ability to interface with MACH3 (via speed control board). It'd be a good match for the Sieg X2 or Optimum BF16/WMD20 mills and small-medium sized hobby lathes (100-200kg, 220-440lbs). Weight approx 4kg (9lbs). .


AM1000-H, 1000watt rated, 2300watt MAX, 6000rpm. Available in 220v ONLY (+/- 10%). A good match for Seig X3 machines, Weiss WMD20/25, Grizzly G0704 machines with power to spare. 130mm X 130mm frame. Weight approx 9kg (20lbs).


AM2200-H, 2200watt rated, 4000watt MAX, 6000rpm. Available in 220v ONLY (+/- 10%). This is the largest BLDC motor Adlee produce. This motor would be a good choice for those with heavier mills - RF45 style, Knee Mills & the like. I've noticed some people have had issues with Novakon and Makini spindle motors - these should be more than adequate for these machines. 130mm X 130mm frame. Weight approx 11kg (24lbs).

Would be interested in converting my Novacon NM145 to AM2200-H.
Has any of you guys done this?

I've had enquiries about an NM145 machine. From the images I've been sent it looks like you'd need to make mounting hardware first, and probably bore out the motor pulley to 24mm.

The motor is a fair bit larger, so it wouldn't be a "drop in" replacement, but its certainly doable. The Am2200 would have plenty of power for that machine.
