The standard Modela MDX-15 only uses roland language. I mode them, replacing the mother board and add.upgrade to four axis to use mach3 and g-code.
You need to remove the right cover, 4 screws. Unplug and remove the roland board. Then bolt in our board and plug in roland plugs. Then you can use a remote keypad to jog, auto zero, and all the good...

This is the best rotary and flip I have ever seen made for MDX 15
hope you make the same for MDX 20
It works even better on the 20. you have much more space to work.
The electronics stay the same.
