Nesting Program

Introducing a new nesting application with dxf output. Nester uses VB scripts to produce the dxf drawings these scripts are able to be edited by you to produce parametric nested dxf drawings. Included scripts will produce dxf files outlining the parts and one for creating a dxf file for MDF doors.
There are functions in the scripting to create text, circles, three point arcs and rectangles.
With the power of VB scripting one could write a script to output G code.
A trial version can be downloaded at http://www.cabinetpartspro.com/Nester/Nester.htm

Hi Jim (and Ryan).

I downloaded it and tried to nest some basic rectangles with mixed results. 24.375 by 34 worked fine but 24 by 41.75 didn't. I should have gotten three to a sheet but only got two.

For some reason it didn't want to rotate the rectangles even though the box to do so was checked off.

Maybe there is something in the settings I don't understand.

Dropout,
There is a few couple settings that could effects the nesting one is the part spacing and the other is the option for panel saws. You will also want to check as Jim Pointed out, it is not using a waste material. Usable waste will be added to the material let and will be used before any full sheets. If you do not want to have waste added change the waste settings. Making the area, longer or wider bigger than the full sheets will prevent the waste from being added. For example your main material is 96 X 48 making the Keep Longer setting 98 to waste will be added to the material list.

I hope this helps please let me know if I need to explain in more detail.

Ryan

ParaNester has an update.

The update includes a setting for edge trim and includes two new nesting options. The two added nesting options are used for those cutting on a beam or table saw.
I you have bought with-in a year and have not received new codes please send me an email.

The new version can be downloaded from this page: http://www.cabinetpartspro.com/OtherProducts.aspx
