igus has published two new additions to its TechTalk Design Advice series, written by igus product managers. “A Basic Guide to Continuous-flex Cables” and “The Five Benefits of Plastic Bearings” both aim to educate design engineers by offering technical insights and tips that make igus' products easy to use in any application.

“A Basic Guide to Continuous-flex Cables” discusses the bundling verses layering technique for high-flex cables. It also talks about how cables constructed in layers are significantly cheaper to produce, but offer limited service life in long-travel, gliding or demanding-flex applications.
