http://pico-systems.com/acservo.html for the drive, and http://pico-systems.com/univpwm.html for the controller. The commutation adapter is not a finished product yet, I want to make the encoder resolution a dip-switch option and then need to have PC boards made. These products may be just a little more expensive than traditional hobby-level products, but such motors as the A06B-0315 motor are not going to be used on traditional hobby CNC machines! You'd find these motors on machines that weigh at least 6 tons and up. You can (and people HAVE!!) put them in their garages, but you'd have to expect to pay a bit more for retrofit components that for a desktop mill. Jon

| As I understand the quadrature encoder signals are passed through as-is. The problem with these motors is they do not have standard BLDC commutation signals as Fanuc produce a pseudo sine wave from a 4 bit code. Jon's unit takes the 4 bit code and together with the encoder, produces the standard simulated Hall commutation signals required for BLDC. So far I have had to replace the whole encoder to get the BLDC tracks. Al.

OK, I am going to send out the encoder converter board for fabrication this weekend. So, I should have a real product out in a couple weeks for the Fanuc motors. It can be used with any industry-compatible brushless drive, such as Servo Dynamics, Copley, AMC, etc. that need the UVW "Hall" signals from the motor. Jon

I now have the Fanuc encoder converter boards back from the fab and have it working. Let me know if you're interested, and what your encoder resolution is. I want to make sure I get all the encoder resolutions included in the program. I'm thinking of pricing these boards at $150 each. I know that sounds high, but if you consider the effort installing and properly aligning an industry-standard encoder to the motor's poles, it may not be so bad. I should have pictures and more data up on my web pages in a couple of days. Jon

I now have the Fanuc encoder converter boards ready. See a pic and some data on it at http://pico-systems.com/oscrc4/catal...products_id=29 Jon
